Dr Oz: Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval

Dr Oz recommended using Alpha Hydroxy Cleanser, eating eggs and yellow peppers, as well as using ceramide moisturizers to look seven years younger.
Rosemary Ellis, Editor-in-Chief at Good Housekeeping, explained to Dr. Oz that getting the Good Housekeeping Seal on a product is pretty difficult. Every product must first do what it promises and it must really work. Hard working experts from various fields conduct numerous experiments before they deem a product ready for the the Good Housekeeping Seal.
Dr Oz: New Anti-Aging Products Develop
Ellis said she would watch her mother apply cold cream to her skin every single night, thinking it would help with anti-aging. But times have changed. Thanks to research and amazing new products in the past 20 years, we have new ways to treat our skin and keep it looking healthy and youthful.
Dr Oz: Use Alpha Hydroxy Cleanser (AHA) on Skin
Diane Berson, a dermatologist, cautioned women to stop making the mistake of over-cleansing when it comes to their skin. For example, if you wash your face at night before going to bed, it is not necessary to wash it again in the morning because this will just dry out the skin. This is going to cause the skin to age a lot faster.
Diane Berson explained the best product to use is the Alpha Hydroxy Cleanser (AHA) every night. This type of cleanser will help to naturally exfoliate skin and cleanse pores, leaving any skin surface with a smooth and radiant glow. You can find a variety of AHA cleansers right at your local drugstore for under $10 each. Berson suggested looking for acids that end in “ic,” such as the following:
- Glycolic
- Salicylic
- Lactic
- Citric
Dr Oz: Ceramide Moisturizer and Home Peel
Dr. Diane Berson also recommended an at-home peel, which is basically a more concentrated version of an Alpha Hydroxy Cleanser, as it works more deeply into the skin, leaving it with even more glow and radiance.
More products Dr. Berson explained would work great for anti-aging are ceramides, which work to restore the lipids in the skin, leaving the skin plump, soft and smooth, rather than dry and rough. Dr. Berson said using a small, dime sized amount will work wonders. And the best part is the price of many of the ceramides. They will cost under $10 and can be found in many grocery stores.
Dr Oz: Food to Erase Wrinkles and Fix Damaged Skin
Samantha Cassetty, a registered dietician, told Dr. Oz about her “youth foods”, foods you can eat that will make you feel and look better.
- Yellow Peppers – These vegetables are loaded with Vitamin C, an antioxidant, meaning about 10 slices of day will start to notice a change in the skin’s appearance.
- Eggs – Cassetty explained eggs are a lean protein which helps to support the collagen in your skin, the layer just under the surface. Eating 1 to 2 eggs per day will help keep the skin tight.
- Whole Grain – Whole grains contain Selenium, which research has shown helps to protect from UV rays. Eating 3 servings per day will help to erase damaged skin.
- Salmon – Salmon is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids, which help to calm inflammation and minimize blemishes.
Dr Oz: 7 Years Younger Program To Lose Weight
Dr. Oz welcomed two women who worked through the 7 Years Younger program. Both of the women were very pleased with the results, especially since they lost a combined weight of 10 pounds without even trying. They also shared how wonderful they now feel overall and how much healthier their skin looks and feels.
