Dr Oz: Pains You Should Never Ignore
Pain can be a part of life, but how do you know whether it’s a typical problem or something more serious? Dr Oz teamed up with comedian Loni Love to explore 3 Small Pains That Could Be a Problem.
Loni Love said her pains include bills from her agent and online dating. But she said she tries not to be a pain to other people. What are the pain symptoms you cannot ignore?
Dr Oz Small Pains: Calf Pain Deep Vein Thrombosis
Have you felt a muscle spasm in the back of your calf, like there is a charlie horse deep inside the muscle? This could be a blood clot that indicates Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT).

Learn whether small pains could lead to big problems when Dr Oz reveals warnings about calf pain, sudden severe headaches, and burning chest pains.
Dr Oz used a stripper pole with a red ribbon wrapped around it to symbolize blood flowing through the leg. But a clot can block those veins and prevent the flow, trapping blood and causing pain.
Your leg might be red and swollen if you have DVT. Dr Oz showed Loni a lung that contained a blood clot. When a clot travels to the lungs, it can block off blood flow and cause serious breathing problems.
Dr Oz Small Pains: Severe Headache Aneurysm Symptom
We all have headaches now and then, but some are worse than others. Loni Love said that relationship problems usually give her the biggest headaches. Dr Oz gave her a mallet to use on a dummy’s head to demonstrate headache intensity.
Mild headaches are normal. Stronger headaches can be OK too. But an intense headache, like a lightning bolt, comes on quickly and should not ever be ignored. Some headaches will gradually get worse, but what Doctor Oz was mentioning comes on strong and sudden.
He said that could be the sign of a ruptured aneurysm. Go immediately to the emergency room!
Dr Oz Small Pains: Ulcer Symptoms
Have you ever felt burning in your chest? We’re not talking about heartburn in this case. You might think it’s indigestion, but if your stomach is empty and the symptoms don’t respond to over the counter medication, you could have an ulcer.
The stomach usually has a protective coating, but bad bacteria or misuse of pain relievers can cause stomach problems because there is not always a barrier in place. To prevent ulcers, take small doses of pain relievers, and try to have them with a meal.
