Dr Oz: Win Your Daily Dose of Omega 3s
Incorporating Omega-3s was part of The Spectrum plan featured on Dr Oz’s show, which featured results from three women who transformed their lives in three months by making sustainable changes to their routines and habits. Omega 3s can help to lengthen those all-important Telomeres. Are you getting enough in your daily diet? Here are some sources you could turn to.
Dr Oz: Omega 3 Dietary Sources
Three audience members had the chance to learn more about healthy sources of Omega 3s. They shared their food diaries before the show and Dr Oz said none of them were getting enough Omega 3s on a daily basis.
One of the women, Quadriyyah, admitted that she does not get the right nutrients in her diet because “I don’t follow directions well.” At least she is honest!
Dr Oz: Flaxseed & Flaxseed Oil Omega 3s
Getting the right ratio of healthy Omega-3s in your diet, as compared to other unhealthy fats, you are more likely to have longer Telomeres, which are believed to be the secret to anti-aging.
Flaxseed and Flaxseed Oil were the first source of Omega-3s that Dr Oz discussed as being beneficial. Just a tablespoon of Flaxseed in yogurt, smoothies, or cereal can get you your daily dose.
Dr Oz: Omega-3 Supplement Review
If you prefer to get your Omega 3s in supplement form, that’s perfectly fine as well. Look for a product with at least 600 mg DHA on the label at your local drugstore.
Dr Oz: Sardines Omega 3 Content
There was still one more common source of Omega 3s that you could try. If you are a fan of Sardines, you are in luck. An audience member reluctantly agreed to let Dr Oz feed her sardines.
He went on and on about how much he loves to eat Sardines, and he said they are a very rich source of Omega 3s. I don’t think I have ever tried Sardines before, but I would be willing to taste them and see if they might be a good Omega 3 option for me.
Do you have a favorite from among the choices Dr Oz presented today? Do you feel like you get enough Omega 3s in your life?
