Dr. Oz explained that generally, if the olive oil is light-colored, that means it’s more processed. The next natural way to fight cholesterol is with broccoli sprouts. Dr. Oz said they look like alfalfa but they’re actually baby broccoli. He suggested that you add it to a sandwich every day to reduce inflammation in the arteries. Seems easy enough!
Next, Dr. Oz shared that you can use chickpeas to naturally lower your cholesterol. Dr. Oz said he loves that they’re available in cans and said that they reduce your bad cholesterol and have fiber as well. Finally, Dr. Oz shared that you can fight off bad cholesterol with citrus fruit. Dr. Oz said citrus fruit is valuable for a lot of reasons, including vitamin C. Dr. Oz explained that you have to eat the whole fruit, not just drink the juice, because that’s where you get the benefit of fiber. What you’re really after in the citrus fruit is the pectin. Dr. Oz shared that just one orange a day is all you need, and the white, stringy stuff that people usually pick off of the oranges is what has the most benefits so try to eat as much of that as you can.
