Dr Oz: High Blood Sugar Signs + Constant Thirst & Dry Skin

Dr Oz: Signs Your Blood Sugar Is Too High

Dr Oz said he was going to reveal surprising signs that you blood sugar may be too high. To help with the discussion, he welcomed Rosa from the audience, who said she had no idea what her fasting blood sugar was. Dr Oz said 94% of his audience didn’t know either, which is a problem because 30% of people who have diabetes in our country don’t know they actually have it.

Dr Oz explained that if your fasting blood sugar levels are less than 100 MG/DL you’re normal, if it’s 100-125 MG/DL then you’re pre-diabetic, and if it’s 126 MG/DL or higher, than you’re diabetic.

Dr Oz: Are You Always Thirsty?

The first sign that your blood sugar may be too high is unusual thirst. Dr Oz explained that your body is made up of water and if your sugar is too high, instead of water and sugar being balanced, you have an imbalance. The body will begin to urinate the sugar out, but the water will go out with it.

He said you’re going to the bathroom all of the time because your body keeps wanting to get rid of all the sugar.

Dr Oz: Frequent Yeast Infections

The next sign that your blood sugar is too high is experiencing frequent yeast infections. Dr Oz shared that three out of four women will have yeast infections in their lifetime. When you have high blood sugar, you can get three or four yeast infections in one year.

Dr Oz: Dry Skin + Eucerin Treatment

Third, Dr Oz said a lot of people with diabetes will have dry skin. Dr Elizabeth Tanzi explained that diabetes doesn’t directly cause dry skin but dry skin on the lower legs is a long-term effect of having high blood sugar. Diabetes damages the small blood vessels throughout the body, which can reduce the amount of hydration to the skin.

To help with dry skin, you can use a really good long-last moisturizer like Eucerin Diabetics Dry Skin Relief that has a formulation that can help soften the skin and remove dead skin from the surface. It also has an ingredient that draws water in and locks it on the skin. Dr Oz asked Donna, who has diabetes, to try it, and she’s been using the cream for five days. Within 24 hours she already noticed a huge difference.
