Dr Oz: Holiday Time Savers
Are you making sure to take care of your health during the holidays? Dr Oz shared some solutions to common problems that tend to crop up during the winter months, when everyone is shopping or preparing for parties. Try his blood flow leg exercise and get advice for every step of the gift buying process.
Dr Oz: Heavy Shopping Bags
Do you carry all your shopping bags in one hand? (I do.) Dr Oz said this isn’t distributing the weight evenly, which could cause back problems and body aches. Carrying too much weight on one side can cause your head and shoulders to lean. The fix for this is easy: carry bags in both your hands. (But how do you unlock your door?)
Dr Oz: Sore Muscle Relaxing Remedy
If you’ve been out shopping or party planning all day, you probably feel stressed out and need the chance to relax. All you need are three things you might have in your house: castor oil, plastic wrap and a heating pad. Dr Oz said to put the heating pad on the plastic after covering the affected area with castor oil. Just make sure you set it on low so you don’t cause burns!
Dr Oz: Standing In Long Lines
Did you know that it’s more uncomfortable to stand still than it is to walk for a long time? That’s because movement promotes blood flow. Standing still too long causes your legs to swell and become sore.
Dr Oz: Blood Flow Leg Exercise
But Dr Oz had a fix for this as well. His suggestion is to raise one foot in front of you as you stand in line. Flex your toes forward and back. Then roll the foot in a circle and reverse directions. Switch feet and repeat to keep the blood pumping no matter how long checkout lines get.
Dr Oz: Cleaning Glass & Wrapping Gifts
A lot of us have hectic schedules year round, but the holidays can be even more crazy. Here are some audience suggestions that could help you get more checked off your to do list at the holidays or anytime.
- Peeling Potatoes – Boil batches of potatoes, then soak them in ice. The peels will come right off.
- Cleaning Glass – Use a coffee filter to clean glass without leaving streaks and lint behind.
- Wrapping Gifts – Organize ribbon spools using a paper towel holder. Store wrapping supplies in a tool belt for easy storage and access.
