Dr Oz: The Fast Metabolism Diet Review
Dr. Oz and Haylie Pomroy have been discussing ways to turbo-charge your metabolism by getting some important tests at the doctor’s office, avoiding fat-free foods and using the metabolism checklist to see if you are in a metabolic slump or not. Pomroy even went over her metabolism boosting plan that can help you lose 20 pounds in four weeks.
Dr Oz: Eat Protein Before Going Out To Dinner
Haylie Pomroy, author of the book The Fast Metabolism Diet, said the key to a strong metabolism is being prepared for any unexpected roadblocks, like a special occasion dinner, that you might encounter. She said the best way to prepare yourself for a dinner out is by eating 10 to 15 grams of protein every two hours leading up to the dinner because this will stabilize your blood sugar levels and leave you not feeling so hungry when you arrive.
The biggest mistake people make when trying to rev up their metabolism is not eating all day long. Fasting all day can slow your metabolism significantly.
Before you head to that special birthday dinner, check out the healthy protein choices Dr. Oz has below:
- Lean organic beef
- Hemp milk
- Almond milk
Dr Oz: Sesame Oil Lowers Rate Of Sugar Absorption
The next roadblock people may encounter is the sugar binge. Pomroy said she loves hosting dessert parties because she has a sweet tooth and she had some advice for how you can indulge your sweet tooth without sacrificing your new, revved up metabolism. Pomroy said it is best to include healthy fats in your dinner because they help lower the rate of sugar delivery into your bloodstream.
- Raw nuts like pistachios, almonds or cashews
- Grapeseed oil
- Sesame oil
- Olive oil
Dr Oz: Eat Cucumbers After Drinking To Stabilize Metabolism
Everyone likes to enjoy a drink with friends every now and then and your metabolism should not have to suffer because of it. Pomroy said the most important thing about her plan is enjoying yourself and not feeling guilty about your choices. She suggested eating a lot of potassium-rich foods the day after a night of drinking because it will stabilize your electrolytes, prevent water weight gain and keep your metabolism on track.
