Dr Oz: Reflexology Helps To Reduce Stress
Dr. Oz’s wife, Lisa Oz, was his special guest on the show today and she was stopping by to teach her husband’s audience some of her best home remedies.
Lisa Oz said her number one priority is to keep Dr. Oz as healthy as possible while building up his immune system and helping him de-stress. She said her favorite way to reduce Dr. Oz’s stress is with reflexology, the practice of reading the foot which represents the microcosm of the entire body. By pressing on different parts of the foot, Lisa Oz is able to stimulate the areas of the body represented on the foot.
- Toes connect to the brain, sinus, eyes and ears
- Balls of the feet connect to the lungs, heart and liver
- Arch of the foot connects to the small intestine and bladder
- Heel of foot connects to the pelvis
Lisa Oz explained the areas of the foot that are the most sensitive to the pressure she applies are the areas that are worn down and stressed. She said areas of the body that are not stressed will not be sensitive at all. She said she memorized what different parts of the foot represent on the body, but she said you can also buy reflexology foot socks that map out the areas of the body represented on the foot.
Lisa Oz: Constipation Home Remedy – Magnesium Citrate Powder
Dr. Oz admitted today that he likes to talk about poop so much on the show because he has a problem in that area, especially when he travels. Lisa Oz said she had a great home remedy for constipation, adding that her family never travels without it. She said to take one 500 mg capsule of magnesium citrate powder. She said if you get it in powder form, use one teaspoon a day and add it to orange juice to mask the flavor.
Dr Oz: Home Remedy for Pain – Comfrey Tincture Compress
Lisa Oz’s next remedy was for pain. She told the audience Dr. Oz recently experienced a bit of fall while out kite gliding and he had a great deal of bruising on his ribs. She said she turned to comfrey tincture as an effective remedy for the bruising. Follow the instructions below to make the compress properly.
- Make a comfrey compress by soaking a cheesecloth with the tincture. Place it on the area, even while you sleep, to help relieve the pain and heal your bruises.
Dr Oz: Essence Of Hornbeam Lowers Stress
Dr. Oz said you might not know it when he is on the show, but he feels a great deal of anxiety and stress each day. He said the stress stems from anything going on in his life, from a difficult heart surgery to a tough interview on the show. Lisa Oz had a remedy for him though. She said she treats her husband’s excess stress with a bach remedy called essence of hornbeam. Just placing a few drops under your tongue will calm your nerves and help you relax.
Dr Oz: Lisa Oz’s Sea Salt Face Scrub Remedy To Exfoliate Skin
Dr. Oz admits he never wore makeup before he started his television show and he says it is the toughest part of the job because it truly messes up his skin. Lisa Oz created a salt scrub to help heal her husband’s irritated skin.
Lisa Oz Sea Salt Face Scrub Ingredients:
- ½ cup finely ground sea salt
- ½ cup coconut oil
- 2 drops lavender oil
Lisa Oz Sea Salt Face Scrub Directions:
- Combine all of the ingredients and spread on your face to remove makeup and exfoliate. Lisa recommends using the scrub while in the shower so it makes less of a mess.
