He and audience assistant Tisha discussed some healthy four-letter words that have to do with flexibility, chewing your food, and getting more flavonoids in your diet, which have numerous health advantages.
Do you know these four-letter words? Even though they started with F, S, and D, they are probably not the ones that jump to mind if you are like Tisha.
Dr Oz: Flexibility Test for Arteries
The first four-letter word was Flex, which is what you are supposed to think of when you picture your muscles. Dr Oz said that you can test your flexibility. Sit with your legs in front of you. Then reach forward and try to touch your toes.

Dr Oz shared some four-letter words that are good for your health, including Dark, for dark foods containing flavonoids, and a flex test for your arteries.
If you can touch your toes, your arteries are more flexible. If not, your arteries are more stiff, which can be associated with high blood pressure. This is another reason why stretching is so important.
Dr Oz: One Bite Every 10 Seconds
Slow was Doctor Oz’s next four-letter word for health. Slowly chewing is good when you are eating. It helps your stomach keep up with the body.
Chewing more slowly can also help you lose weight and lower your risk of diabetes. Dr Oz’s assistant Tisha eats very quickly, sometimes enjoying 15 bites per minute. Oz suggested slowin down to one bite every 10 seconds.
Dr Oz: Dark Foods with Flavonoids
The final four-letter word was Dark. That is because Dr Oz wanted everyone to eat more dark foods. Darker foods have more flavonoids, which Dr Oz has discussed in the past as having great health benefits.
Pay more attention to the colors of the food. Purple foods are great when it comes to flavonoids, which reduce breast cancer, help colon cancer, and promote blood vessel health.
Dark foods might include mushrooms, blueberries, eggplant, cabbage, and even red wine, so help yourself to some flavonoids!
