Dr Oz: Causes of Chronic Pain
According to Dr. Oz, 120 million people are dealing with chronic pain and he shared some natural ways to help those people find relief.
Dr. Oz gave an example of chronic pain of the knee. He said that the cartilage in between the knee joint wears down until eventually bone is rubbing on bone. The body tries to heal itself by making new bone, but doesn’t know when to stop. The thickened area makes it so that it’s always bone touching bone and the space that’s supposed to be there tends to disappear. That’s what causes so much pain. So how do you manage your pain?

Dr. Oz shared natural ways to help you deal with chronic pain. His first suggestion was to take a probiotic supplement. He said a brand new study was conducted that showed people with rheumatoid arthritis and chronic pain took 1 capsule daily and it helped them better manage their pain.
The second solution Dr. Oz shared for chronic pain was Arnica gel. He said that a study shows it’s just as effective a ibuprofen. You rub it right into the joint. Dr. Oz even uses it in his own home.
Dr Oz: Chronic Pain Relief, Ice Massage & Omega-3’s
The next natural solution to chronic pain that Dr. Oz shared is ice massage. He said to put some water in a paper cup and freeze, then take the ice out of the cup and use it inside of a towel to massage into troublesome areas. The coolness of the ice reduces inflammation and the massage stimulates the removal of toxins.
I can personally vouch for this solution because I’ve used it plenty of times myself. I’ve had two knee surgeries and a should surgery because of injuries from volleyball and I used ice massages just like Dr. Oz described both before surgery to manage pain and after surgery to help the healing process. It not only feels great while you do it, but also gives you lasting relief.
The last solution Dr. Oz shared for chronic pain was omega-3’s. As if he hasn’t already given plenty of reasons to be taking omega-3’s, here’s another one. He said the supplement works to slow down the body’s inflammatory response and reduces inflammation.
