Dr Oz: What To Do After A Severe Cut
If you’ve ever gotten hurt or sick in the middle of the night, Dr Oz has a solution for those who can’t go rushing to the doctor. Being able to have a doctor on call would be wonderful, because normally you just have a mommy on call. More than 200,000 hospital visits are the result of cuts.
Dr Oz said if your cut is gushing or you’ve cut deep enough to see fat, muscle, or bone, you want to go to the E.R. as soon as possible. Apply pressure with a clean cloth until the bleeding stop. You should also clean the wound with soap and water, but put soap around the wound not in the wound. Also use antibiotic ointment.
Dr Oz: What To Do After A Fall
If you’re rushing around and you fall down the steps, sometimes seeing a doctor isn’t the best or desired option for you. Dr Oz said if you had him on speed dial, he would first tell you that if you have severe headaches, vomiting, or confusion, you should go see a doctor right away.
If you don’t have any of those things, he would suggest ice and ibuprofen for the sore spots.
Dr Oz: Ask MD & Amwell App
Dr Oz revealed that you no longer have to wait to talk to a doctor if you need to. You can now talk to a doctor 24/7 using the Ask MD app. When you use the app, you should take a simple assessment that will help the doctor you’re about to speak with better understand what’s going on.
Once you complete the assessment, you can pick a doctor and either immediately connect with a doctor through amwell, or schedule a meeting for a later time.
Dr Oz: Advice For Nausea & Vomiting
Dr Oz connected with one of the available doctors, who said when she sees patients on amwell with symptoms like nausea and vomiting, she likes to recommend hydration. Fluids like water, sports drinks, ginger ale, or coconut water can help replace potassium. Just be sure to take small sips throughout the day. You should also stick to small bland meals as tolerated.
On average, you would wait approximately 7-10 minutes to meet with a doctor on amwell.
