Dr Oz: Divorced Women Get Plastic Surgery Discounts
Dr. Oz talked with two plastic surgeons about a new trend in plastic surgery of offering recently divorced women a discount on plastic surgery. Dr. Oz believes he is taking advantage of the women when they are most vulnerable but the doctors say they are not coercing the women into having the surgery done.
Dr Oz: Gina Regrets Plastic Surgery After Divorce
Dr. Oz’s next guest, Gina, shared her experience with plastic surgery which she opted to have done after the end of a 15-year marriage. She told Dr. Oz she thought plastic surgery would fix everything for her. She initially only wanted a tummy tuck but the plastic surgeon suggested a small amount of liposuction as well to make her hips look better. Gina said the $200 extra charge made her a bit nervous but she did it anyway.
Gina told Dr. Oz she thought the plastic surgery would make her feel better about her appearance and help her to get out there and meet new people. Unfortunately, Gina said it did not have that effect on her and she now regrets having the plastic surgery.
Dr Oz: 90 Percent Of Women Happy With Tummy Tucks
Dr. Brent Moelleken said while some women do not like the outcome of their plastic surgery, around 90 percent of women are happy with how their tummy tucks turn out. Gina was upset by the statistic pointing out there are 10 percent of women who are not happy and they matter as well. She said she never wants another woman to have to go through the complications and scarring she went through with her surgery.
Dr Oz: Factors To Consider Before Plastic Surgery
Dr. Alicia Salzer said the length of time a woman should wait to make any major life changes after a divorce may vary, but she said it is something women need to consider deeply. Rather than looking at how long you have been divorced, Dr. Salzer said to consider some other factors as well.
- Make sure you are financially stable
- Date a few people to see what you bring to a relationship aside from your physical appearance
- Date people who value you for being a good mom or for your sense of humor
- Focus on your positive personality traits
