Today Show: At Home Coffee Brewers
Americans are addicted to their coffee, and with so many ways to get your coffee fix every morning, the Today Show wanted to slim down the options for the best at home coffee brewer they could find. But first, they wanted to see just how addicted people have become. Some people will pay $7 for a cup of coffee and not blink an eye while others are turning to at home coffee brewers to save a little extra dough on their morning cup of joe.
Sur La Table told the Today Show they have seen a double digit increase in the number of at home coffee brewers they have been selling this year. And it isn’t just the cheap stuff either. They said they have been selling coffee makers that have a price tag in the $1000s and people are asking for even more expensive, high quality brewers.
The true star of the coffee world is the single cup brewer though, which has sold $1.8 billion worth of merchandise, nearly five times as much as previous years. The pod cups, also known as K-cups, are making coffee even easier to make than it was before and people are buying into the trend. But are they worth it?

Freeman said they looked at the speed the coffee was made, the temperature it came out in and the taste of the overall brew to pick the best kind of brewer.
