Today Show: Bryce Harper Runs Into Wall, Gets 11 Stitches
A video from the Washington Nationals baseball game last night shows Bryce Harper, an outfielder for the team, running to catch a fly ball in the outfield before running headlong into the wall. He was able to leave the track on his own power soon after, and he had no concussion, but he had to get 11 stitches as a result of the accident. He is okay as of this morning.
Sketchers Paying $40 Million Back To Shape-Up Customers
If you are one of the people who bought a pair of the Sketchers Shape-Up sneakers, you may be entitled to some money. Sketchers is going to be paying $40 million to more than half a million customers after marketing the shoe as a fitness tool. Sketchers denies that they falsely advertised the shoe, but they are paying up to avoid a long litigation process. So, basically, Sketchers is saying, “We falsely advertised the Shape-Up, so we’re paying you back for it. Also, we didn’t falsely advertise the Shape-Up. We just don’t want to go to court.” H’OKAY Sketchers.
Princess Merida Loses Her Image Of Female Empowerment
Mommy bloggers are very upset about something they saw in the Disney Pixar movie Brave. According to them, the lead character, Princess Merida, will be undergoing an extreme makeover for her coronation as the 11th Disney Princess. The tom-boyish princess that was once a symbol of female empowerment is getting dolled up with lots of makeup and a slimmed-down figure, basically going against the grain of the image of a princess that was going against the grain. Christina Aguilera Returns, Cee-Lo Negotiating Return To The Voice
Season five of The Voice is a hit just like the seasons before it. For season five, debuting this fall, there may be some stars returning to the red coach’s chair after taking a leave of absence. Christina Aguilera is set to return, and Cee-Lo is in “advanced negotiations” to return. Cee-Lo and Christina Aguilera were replaced this season by Usher and Shakira, but both said that they would be returning.
