Today: Where’d Willie Geist Go?
Natalie Morales was joined by Access Hollywood Live’s Billy Bush for the Take 3 May 10 2013. After a week of Willie Geist doing the Take 3, being joined by guest stars as varied as actress Vanessa Williams and author Mika Brzezinski, it was kind of weird to see a Take 3 without him, especially with the robotic Billy Bush sitting next to the very soft-spoken Natalie Morales. The two didn’t have very good chemistry and the whole Take 3 seemed a little like a conversation between two acquaintances who were introduced by a mutual friend, and then the mutual friend immediately walked away. I miss Willie Geist.
Popsicle Stick Al Roker
While I missed Willie Geist, Natalie Morales and Billy Bush bonded over their mutual longing for Al Roker. The two of them actually put pictures of Al Roker on popsicle sticks and played with them. Al Roker, who was preparing to cook breakfast in Silver Springs, Maryland, joined them by teleconference briefly. In the kitchen, Al Roker wore a red apron and a ball cap. “Put on a hairnet,” Billy Bush said to Al Roker. “I don’t need a hairnet, Billy, thank you very much,” Al Roker said. The two of them joked about their fashion choices back and forth in a segment filled with awkward silences. Does anyone have chemistry with Billy Bush?
I guess this was the Take 1. Al Roker already did the pledge of allegiance at a school in Maryland. “Look, public school gets a lot of knocks in our society,” Al Roker said. But he said the school he was at was heads and shoulders above the rest.
Matt Lauer At One World Trade Center
Matt Lauer was 1500 feet up on the One World Trade Center in New York City watching them raise the final piece of the spire to raise the One World Trade Center to the symbolic height of 1776, making the building now the tallest in the Western Hemisphere. Billy Bush said he really felt sick to his stomach watching Matt Lauer get all the way up to where he was to watch it. Natalie Morales brought out the point that the people who constructed it have been at those heights for years now and they deserve a lot of credit.
Tweets About Loving Mom
Today asked viewers to tweet about why they loved their mothers. Natalie Morales said that moms are feeling a lot more stressed the more kids they have. If the mothers have girls, they’re all the more likely to be stressed. “Which makes my wife the most stressed out woman in the world,” Billy Bush added. Natalie Morales said she has two boys, so she doesn’t feel very stressed, especially since there are only two of them. Billy Bush showed a picture of his family, where everyone wore silly hats and Billy’s smile was bigger than anyone’s. Billy asked where a father’s loyalties lie on Mother’s Day: does he spend the day celebrating his own mother, or the mother of his children? It’s a good question with a not-so-easy answer. Neither one of them came to a good conclusion.
