Today Show: Barbara Bush Doesn’t Want Jeb To Run For President
Al Roker, Natalie Morales and Willie Geist sat down on Today April 25 2013 to talk about their Take 3. First up was Barbara Bush’s comments about her son, Jeb Bush. Matt Lauer talked to three generations of Bush women, including Barbara Bush, Laura Bush and the twin daughters of George W. Bush and Laura, Barbara and Jenna.
Matt Lauer asked the women if Jeb Bush should run. Barbara Bush said she thought her son would be great for the job, but she didn’t want to see him run. “I think it’s a great country, there are a lot of great families and it’s not just four families or whatever,” she said. “There are other people out there who are very qualified and we’ve had enough Bushes.”
Those are some pretty strong words from the former First Lady. She seems to be preferring to the often-suggested “rematch” between a Clinton and a Bush in 2016, if Jeb Bush and Hillary Clinton both run. If they are the candidates that year and one of them won, it would mean that only three families would have been in the White House from 1988 to 2020, something Barbara Bush seems to be against.
Virgin America: Hookup Flights?
Virgin America is launching a new seat-to-seat “delivery” service between passengers. Passengers can hit on each other by sending them a drink or a meal and writing a little message like, “My seat or yours?” Virgin America has a policy of turning a blind eye to the so-called “mile high club.” When Willie Geist pointed this out, Al Roker had a very sour looking expression on his face. I’m pretty sure this expression probably also mirrored the expression of everyone in the audience. To be fair, this is offered on the 45 minute flight from L.A. to Vegas, so it’s not likely that hookups will actually happen on the plane, unless people work very fast. Natalie Morales said she thought the fact that this is even an option for passengers cheapens the airline.
Kate McKinnon Ellen Impersonation
Actress Kate McKinnon has played Ellen DeGeneres several times on Saturday Night Live. Recently, she was on Ellen and Ellen gave her the chance to perform her act in front of her. Ellen slid into the guest seat while Kate McKinnon sat in the host seat. The two talked for a minute before the two of them danced.
