Today Show: Lucy Li Ice Cream
Is there anything better after a hard day at the U.S. Women’s Open than some refreshing ice cream? 11-year-old Lucy Li, the youngest golfer to ever qualify for the U.S. Women’s Open, doesn’t think so. Immediately after she competed she went for some ice cream, and didn’t even bother to put it down during a press conference. Lucy Li also wore a very patriotic outfit, and when she was asked about the outfit she simply responded, “Because it’s the U.S. Open.”
Today: Model Behavior
Miranda Kerr and Karlie Kloss are tired of being called models. Miranda Kerr discussed her career recently and said, “If someone asks me what I do, I say I have my own skin care line. I do not define myself as a model.”
Karlie Kloss has said that she is still determining her job title, and makes it known through her Instagram account that she’s taking business classes at Harvard. Savannah Guthrie said she understands the desire to expand their careers, and that most people are probably just shocked to hear that they don’t think of themselves as models. Matt Lauer said “model” has become an almost derogatory term over the years, and that being a model doesn’t mean you’re unintelligent.
Today Show: Unstructured Playtime
A study conducted by the University of Colorado found that children who spend more time in less structured activities, such as playing on the playground or visiting the zoo, are more likely to excel in the classroom. Children who experience this kind of freedom are more able to set their own goals and work towards them independently than children who participate in more structured activities, such as piano lessons or playing little league.
Today: Jeremy Meeks Mug Shot
A recent mug shot has caused some controversy online. Why? Because the convicted felon is supposedly extremely handsome! The 30-year-old convict, Jeremy Meeks, is wanted on $900,000 bail, and his mug shot has over 46,000 likes and over 5,000 shares on Facebook. He was arrested Wednesday June 18 2014 on five felony weapons charges in Stockton, California, and a police representative from the area called him one of the most dangerous criminals in Stockton.
