Today Show: Quvenzhane Wallis Pre-Oscar Excitement
Quvenzhane Wallis is just getting her career in Hollywood started but she was already up for a Best Actress award at the young age of nine. The Today Show wanted to know what it was like being the youngest person ever nominated for the Best Actress award at the Oscars, so they sent Meredith Vieira to talk with the young star.
Although Wallis couldn’t remember who she was wearing to the Oscars, she did say she liked the dress because it was sparkly and puffy. She didn’t seem too nervous about going to the Oscars either. She even practiced a special walk just for the red carpet. Getting dressed up isn’t something unusual for the young star who told Vieira she is the epitome of a girly girl. She loves getting dressed up and she loves her puppy purses as well, her only accessory while on the red carpet.
So what does Wallis’ future in Hollywood hold? She already shot two movies, one where she stars alongside Brad Pitt, and she has also been chosen as the actress to play Annie in the remake of the movie.
Today Show: Oscar After-Parties
It isn’t just about the red carpet and the awards. The Oscar after-parties are where the real fun takes place and Al Roker knows it. So he took a couple of cameras and headed to Elton John’s AIDS awareness party where Elton said he raised over $5 million for AIDS research.
He also talked with Jim Carrey who was donning a pair of oversized shoes that looked just like a set of Hobbit feet. Jane Lynch was there having a good time, as well as Steven Tyler from Aerosmith.
Roker headed over to the Vanity Fair party next where he talked with Russell Brand about his metallic-colored outfit, and Halle Berry stopped by the party only to tell Roker she needed to head home right after arriving because she needed to get her little girl into bed. Although Roker didn’t get into the exclusive parties, Hugh Jackman let him know what was going on. “There is a lot of nudity in there,” he told Roker.
