Richie said she worked with the producers and the other judges in between seasons to change a few things about the show, one such issue – being spread too thin when it comes to mentors and designers. Richie felt she didn’t have enough time with the designers last season so this season the three mentors each get a group of designers to work with. Even with the new dynamic of teams, Richie said it isn’t that competitive between the judges. She even said she asks them for advice from time to time while on the show.

Richie, who said the show has already by shot, said there is a lot of talent in the designers on the show. The only word she could use to explain how great the show is going to be this season is “amazing,” but she wouldn’t give away any spoilers. The only hint at what could come this season came when Richie said the designers get very competitive with each other, and being the self-proclaimed fan of drama that she is, Richie is always trying to get the best gossip.
