Today Show: Craigslist Ad For Wedding Dates
Dave and Mike almost weren’t allowed to go to their cousin’s wedding after they had a hard time finding dates, but they came up with a plan to help them get in.
According to Dave and Mike, brothers, their cousin told them they weren’t allowed to go to her wedding unless they had dates because she didn’t want them harassing her other guests, and she knew they would, a statement they both agreed with. They thought they had a simple solution to their dilemma, though. They would ask two of their friends to go with them. But as it turned out, one of the sisters they were going to ask was in Uganda volunteering. With one of their dates thousands of miles away, the brothers turned to Craigslist.
They made an ad on Craigslist saying they were looking for a pair of women, preferably sisters but anything would do, that were attractive but not too attractive, saying they would be groped by their uncles if their dates were too good looking.
A few days later, and after a spot on the Today Show, the brothers had over 1,800 people respond to their ad. Now all they have to do is choose a pair of women to take to the wedding.
Today Show: Craigslist Wedding Date Selection
Although the bride said she doesn’t mind her cousins using the internet to find dates to her wedding, she might be a little mad about who the brothers choose.
So far, they have received some interesting proposals from the ad. One pair of friends made a Powerpoint outlining why they would be the best candidates to take to the wedding, while another pair of friends made their own music video to the song “Don’t Stop Believin’.” The brothers also received wedding date applications from a pair of sisters, 53 and 50, respectively. Although Dave and Mike are not going to take the older women, it isn’t all about their age. Apparently one of the women has a husband she looks after and the brothers do not intend on being home wreckers.
If they don’t care about age maybe they should take Kathie Lee and Hoda. I guess we will find out in a week or two who the brothers are taking when they make their decision.
