Today Show: Revenge Wears Prada Review
The duo of Andy Sachs, the once naive assistant to Runway Magazine‘s editor, Miranda Priestly, has returned for the sequel, and fashionistas and fans of the original are lining up in droves to see what happens in the sequel. Lauren Weisberger took her time (10 years) to write the sequel because she wanted to let a decade go by in everyone’s lives. This way, a lot was able to happen in the timeline to set up for a truly fulfilling sequel.
Now, Andy has been married and is editor-in-chief of her own magazine, and her former partner in crime, Emily, is her partner once again. Just when everything seems to be going along swimmingly, however, Miranda Priestly comes back to rock the boat once again.
Today Show: Lauren Weisberger Liked Devil Wears Prada The Movie
Unlike most authors, who tend to not be so happy with silver-screen adaptations of their work, Lauren Weisberger said that she quite enjoyed seeing her characters come to life in Devil Wears Prada, even when some of the fans of the book didn’t. In fact, she went as far to say that she would love to see this book get the movie treatment, as well.
Lauren also felt gratified that people were so interested in seeing where her characters went. Some critics are wondering if Andy has sold out, because at the end of the first book, she said she was leaving the publishing world, but now runs her own magazine. Since it’s 10 years later, Andy’s character has matured and realized that doing any type of writing in a big city is an accomplishment, said Lauren.
