The first question was from a single mother who has dabbled in online dating, with varying levels of success, but has always run into one problem—she can’t find anything serious.

Patti’s advice was to narrow her target—instead of just searching for men to date, she suggested searching for men who share specific interests. “If you’re into skiing, look for a skiing website. Narrow your target,” she said.

The next question was from a woman who has been dating a man for five years, but the man refuses to pop the marriage question, and doesn’t appear to be asking anytime soon. Stanger and the rest were unanimous in saying that if marriage is what the woman truly wanted, she needed to move on from that man.

Today Show: How To Cultivate a Relationship

A couple asked the next question, which was regarding how to cultivate a relationship once it has blossomed for a long time (they’d been together 12 years). Gail Saltz provided the answer.

“You two need to stimulate your brains. Go out, find a subject you’re interested in—maybe it’s making beer, maybe it’s something philosophical like dark energy, and return to your partner and share it with them.”

The group then joked about combining the mental and physical stimulation, with Willie Geist joking that the key to relationships is “making beer in your underwear.”

Today Show: Giving Space In Relationships

The last question was from a woman who was struggling with a relationship that forced her to work from home with her partner. The advice from Stanger was to give some separation.

“If you’re working from home, make yourself a little cave so to speak. Give some separation between you and your partner.”

Stanger’s show The Millionaire Matchmaker airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
