Kathie Lee & Hoda sat down with Jill Martin, People Style Watch contributing editor, to discuss the hottest trends for the hottest season. Jill starts the fashion show by giving Kathie Lee and Hoda their own pair of printed reading glasses with matching protective sleeves. Jill said that prints are the biggest thing in style right now and to keep an eye out for printed accessories.

Today Show: Ruffled Dress & Accessorized Sandals

The first outfit of the fashion show was a flirty, ruffled dress. Jill likes the ruffle trend because the ruffles can camouflage problem areas, especially at the beginning of the summer. Beaded sandals were paired with the dress. Jill said that when it comes to footwear, it’s all about the accessorized sandal this season.

Kathie Lee & Hoda: Tailored Tunic Review

The next outfit was a tailored tunic, an updated version of the standard tunic. This tunic comes in around the waist to make it less boxy and give it more personality. It’s a good day to night piece, with the addition of a pair of white jeans for the evening.

Next up, Jill demonstrated how to change a sarong into a cute, party dress. Just wrap the square sarong around the body then tie around the neck, and it’s converted from a beach cover-up to a beachy dress. Jill also adapted a maxi dress by adding jewelry to dress it up.

Kathie Lee & Hoda: Splurge vs. Steal Getaways

Kathie Lee & Hoda explored splurge and steal vacation getaways around the country and the Caribbean.

The Cloister At Sea Island Review

In Georgia, The Cloister at Sea Island is a splurge at $395/night. The Cloister is a good place to take the kids, with a vintage ice cream parlor and movie theater, but a relaxing resort for the adults. Also in Georgia, the Jekyll Island Club Hotel is a steal at $199/night. This getaway is also great for the whole family, with girlfriend getaways, biking, stunning beaches, and a summer cooking camp offered for kids.

Hidden Pond Review

Up north in Maine, Hidden Pond is a splurge for $364/night, with 36 cottages with screened in porches and outdoor showers. Hidden Pond offers yoga, paddling and nightly bonfires, complete with s’mores. Also in Maine, Nebo Lounge is a steal at $100/night May-June, and $145/night July through Columbus Day. All nine rooms in this hotel include claw foot tubs and cast iron beds. It’s also claimed to be a “foodie getaway.”

Pacific Edge Hotel Review

Out west, Four Seasons The Biltmore in Santa Barbara, California is a splurge at $395/night, with great access to the area’s vineyards and beautiful ocean views. The Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach is a steal for $139/night, complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, colorfully painted adirondack chairs, and great views of the ocean.

Sugar Beach Review

In the Caribbean  Sugar Beach, A Viceroy Resort in St. Lucia is a splurge at $440/night, decorated beatifully with white-on-white decor and was listed as one of the top 60 most exciting properties of the year. Now is a great time to stay, with cheaper prices now than in the high season. The Anacaona Boutique Hotel in Anguilla is a Caribbean steal at $160/night. Anguilla is known for having expensive hotels, so the Anacaona is an exciting steal. It offers white sand beaches, two pools and ocean views.
