Kathie Lee & Hoda: Plaza Ambush Makeover April 4 2013

Thursday is here again which means it was time for two lucky Today Show audience members to get a surprise plaza ambush makeover from celebrity stylist Louis Licari and Today style contributor Jill Martin. Licari said he and Martin chose two women who had never been to New York before today and brought them into the studio for one awesome day in New York City.

The first woman they chose was Pat Beerman, 57, who said she just lost 50 pounds and she was looking for some new style to add to her new, skinnier look. She even surprised everyone on the show when she revealed she was a grandmother because she sure didn’t look old enough to be one. Although she was bit nervous about the makeover, saying she hadn’t worn a dress in over a decade, she went through with it.

When they brought Beerman out from backstage, she looked amazing. She was one good looking grandma. Louis Licari said he went for a glamorous look with the haircut by lightening her hair color and giving her a stylish cut. As for her dress, Martin said she dressed her in a black and blue color blocking dress from Maggy London. As much as her family was surprised with the makeover, Beerman was even more surprised. She couldn’t even believe she was looking at herself in the mirror.

Kathie Lee & Hoda: Beverly Jones Plaza Ambush Makeover

Beverly Jones from Knoxville, Iowa, was the second woman chosen for the plaza ambush makeover. She told Kathie Lee and Hoda she has never colored her hair and she never wears makeup. She even started crying before the makeover began when her daughter said she deserved this makeover because she is such an excellent mother who works very hard.

When she came out from backstage, she looked stunning, too. She couldn’t even believe how great her haircut was and she started to cry right after she saw her reflection in the mirror.

Louis Licari said he dyed her hair a light brown and he did a minimal amount of cutting, both of which knocked off about 10 years from her appearance. As for the dress, Miller dressed her in an Ellen Tracy dress from Macy’s.
