John Leguizamo, the comedian and actor, is back as the voice of Sid, the lovable sloth. In the movie, Sid is energetic and super silly and slobbers all over his long-lost family. Leguizamo said what a dysfunctional animated family he has. Joy Behar is his mother and Wanda Sykes is his grandmother. Leguizamo said that Wanda Sykes is hysterical in it and he said her voice is gold in it.

John Leguizamo: The Voice Of Sid

For Ice Age, John Leguizamo is the voice of Sid. To come up with the voice, Leguizamo said he looked at Discovery Channel footage and sloths move real slow and they’re stinky. He said they store food in their cheek pounches and they chew so slow that it ferments and turns to alcohol and they get drunk and fall off the trees. To come up with a voice for Sid, Leguizamo said he started to walk around with a sandwich in his mouth and started talking and the voice started.

John Leguizamo: The Sid Shuffle

One of the highlights of Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, is when John Leguizamo’s character, Sid, breaks out into the Sid Shuffle. Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb has Leguizamo teach them the moves to the shuffle. To help Leguizamo, Queen Latifaj, the voice of Ellie on Ice Age 4: Continental Drift, and John’s daughter came out so he can teach everyone the moves for the Sid Shuffle. I am glad this happened, because I love me some Queen Latifah! Kathie Lee and Hoda don’t keep up very well with the moves!
