Kathie Lee & Hoda: Texas Grandmother Thrown To Ground During Traffic Stop

A 77-year-old grandmother in Texas was pulled over for speeding. She was going 66 mph in a 50 mph zone. The police officer asked her for her drivers license, registration and insurance and she said she had a bladder infection and had to go to the bathroom. She persisted that she had to go to the bathroom and he must hurry up. He told her no and then said he would arrest her and she said go ahead, so he proceeded to. He opened the door and twisted her arm to pull her out. The lady said he hurt her and he will be in trouble for this. He said get out of the vehicle because she is under arrest and proceeded to pull her out of the vehicle onto the ground and pulls her up and cuffs her!

All of this was caught on the dash cam and he had a camera on his uniform, which it looked like he tried to cover up during the incident. Kathie Lee said granny could have gotten out of the car nicely. Hoda said granny had a urinary tract infection, she had to go and please don’t push granny around. She said when you are taking a 77-year-old woman and pulling her out of her car and onto the concrete, there is a mistake being made somewhere. The police department is standing behind the officer because what he did was proper. Hoda said it was his tone that seemed to escalate the situation. They took a poll and 14% said it was not okay and 86% said it was not okay what he did.

Alison Pill plays Maggie on The Newsroom and she apparently needs to learn how to work her Twitter. She said she accidentally tweeted a topless photo of herself. Hoda said the good thing is that she got 2,000 more followers right after she tweeted it. Kathie Lee asked why people are taking pictures of themselves.

Kathie Lee & Hoda: iPhone 5 Review

The new iPhone 5 is coming out and Hoda said it is supposed to be thinner, lighter, faster, take better pictures than the iPhone does and the battery lasts longer. Hoda said it is like the old one, but with a better camera. The iPhone 5 is available to pre-order starting September 14 2012 and available in stores on September 21 2012.

Hoda A Party Girl

Hoda was the emcee at Self Magazine‘s “Women Doing Good Awards” and she said it was a really terrific event. After that event, she went to the Us Weekly 25 Most Stylish New Yorkers party and she said it was a party that was rocking. Ryan Lochte was there with his mother and she was in the deejay booth.

For her weekly song selection on iHoda’s Playlist, Hoda told Kathie Lee she is going to love this one. She said it is a song about a tree and you might think how could a song about a tree be anything meaningful.  It is called “A Seed” by Paul Sikes and it will blow your mind. Kathie Lee said it is intelligent.

For OK! Magazine, Kathie Lee and Hoda answered the question: Is it OK for tennis players to grunt? Kathie Lee said world class athletes compete at a level very few of us can comprehend and if they have to grunt to get it done, then grunt. Hoda said yes it is okay and she said grunt. Set it free!

Kathie Lee & Hoda: Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Lip Dub Viral Video

For the Webtastic Video, Kathie Lee said this one tugs at the heartstrings and it features patients and staff members at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Sara Haines said that each year 10,000 new cases of childhood cancer are diagnosed, which this video was created to honor those patients. Not going to lie at all, but this video made me cry big time. It is such a touching video.
