Emily Giffin: Bestselling Author
Emily Giffin is a New York Times bestselling author whose first book, Something Borrowed, was turned into a major motion picture starring Kate Hudson. She followed that up with four more New York Times bestsellers and Where We Belong is soon to follow. Giffin said she still goes out on book signings and said it is her honor and privilege to go on book signings. She wants to hear what they are saying about the book.
Emily Giffin: Where We Belong Review
Where We Belong is a story of two women and the secrets that bind them. Emily Giffin said this is her favorite. She said she thinks it is because she fell in love with this character. I love the Young Adult and coming-of-age story. She thinks Kirby is a compelling character. Giffin said there is a little bit of her in every character she writes about, but she was a little intimated to write about Kirby because she is 18 and Giffin is 40.
Giffin said when the biological mother meets her daughter, the first thing she does is take her to Barney’s to go shopping and some people find that obnoxious, but it is because she is nervous. Giffin said she is in talks of making this one into a movie as well.
Emily Giffin: Family As Editors
Emil Giffin said she lets her Mom and aunt read her books chapter-by-chapter when she is writing them. She has a little inner circles of friends who read them. Sometimes she does changes based on what they say, but it is more to gauge their reaction to how they are feeling about the characters.
