Kathie Lee and Hoda have started a new series on The Today Show called Today’s Spotlight, where they are looking for some new, up-and-coming talent in America. The ladies said it is going to be people that they find in their travels, so do not submit auditions to them. Kathie Lee said it doesn’t have to be singing.
She said it can be hysterically funny people or people that do strange things with their tongues. It’s open for everybody.
Today’s Spotlight: Paul Sikes
Paul Sikes is an up-and-coming artist that Hoda Kotb discovered when traveling down south. Hoda went to Nashville a little while ago and stopped at a famous café called The Bluebird Café. At the cafe, the performers just sit there with their guitar or piano and perform.
Hoda said she listened and cried when she heard Paul Sikes. She said he sings beautiful songs. She said her ears lit up when he started singing and she was so moved and she wanted him to come visit them. Hoda said it is not only because he is adorable, but that is part of it.
Paul Sikes: Craft: By Paul Sikes Review
Paul Sikes was born in Nashville and is the son of a preacher. He started playing piano at the age of seven. He said he is a writer of songs who absolutely loves the idea of creating something that didn’t exist that morning.
Sikes created his own production company, 7-Layer Productions, and produced his own album, Craft: By Paul Sikes. Hoda Kotb said he has a great voice and My Epitaph is one of the most beautiful love songs I’ve ever heard.
