Kathie Lee & Hoda: Best Hairstyles For Spring
If you haven’t had a haircut in a long time, Louis Licari said spring is the best time to get one. In an effort to let women of America see what the best styles are for this spring, he gave some hair makeovers to three lucky audience members. The first woman, a 50-year-old from New York, had some pretty crazy locks of hair. Her extreme waves made her face structure look strange and Licari also said the color of her hair was making her skintone look red. When she came out with her new cut, the woman looked fabulous. Her hair was shorter, around shoulder length, Licari added some color that made her face glow and he said the cut was the perfect type of fun cut for spring.
The next woman had some really long hair that draped down to her knees. Licari said long hair is great, but if it’s too long it is impossible to tame. When the woman came out her hair was still long, about chest length, but it had a new color, a darker brown, some more texture was added and a whole lot of layers helped shape her face.
The last woman was a single mother and teacher from the Bronx who hasn’t had time for herself in years. Her hair was graying a bit and it was a bit untamed and wild. When she came out though, her hair was completely different. Licari said he took control of the hair and added a little bit of color, reminding everyone that coloring an African American’s hair is difficult because their type of hair is very fragile. He said the color had to be added though because it gave her face a nice glowing color.
Kathie Lee & Hoda: Joy Fit Club Member Tanee Janusz Loses 200 Pounds
Tanee Janusz is the newest member of Joy’s Fit Club and she deserves to be a member. Janusz told Kathie Lee and Hoda she weighed almost 360 pounds at her heaviest. Her lowest point came when her son darted out into traffic but she couldn’t catch her son. Luckily someone else noticed the boy and helped him get back to his mother. Janusz beat herself up about the incident until she decided to change.
She joined Weight Watchers and started to work out. She struggled at first, opting to take her time exercising. She started with walking, then moved to jogging and then running and using the exercise machines. In just nine months she lost 100 pounds. Over the next two years she lost another 100 pounds and she went from a size 32 to a size 6.
Janusz said she was most proud that she could get the weight off with hard work and not with some crazy diet. She has even dedicated her life to losing weight, becoming a personal trainer to help other people lose their extra weight just like she did. She said the biggest difference in her weight loss came when she substituted her emotional eating for working out.
