Kathie Lee and Hoda have been through a lot in five years. They revealed their weight to the world, they did an entire show without any makeup on and they did a whole lot of dancing. Really what have they not done?

While watching the montage of their past five years together, Hoda said the moment she did the first show, she knew it was going to change her life forever, while Kathie Lee said she figured she would do the show for a year before she quit.

Kathie Lee & Hoda: Hoda Drops the News Corset

The happy-go-lucky format of the show is all thanks to Kathie Lee. She said she would laugh everyday when the beginning of the show would air and the announcer would say something about NBC news. She said she has always been in entertainment news and that was what the show was about. It wasn’t about hard news. It was about having fun. But first she had to get Hoda on board.

Hoda said she was the news girl on the show. She had the “news corset” around her. She remembered Kathie Lee telling her to drop the note cards and take out her ear piece and start having some fun on the show. Hoda said she can remember watching the cards fall to the floor and from that day on, the show was all about having fun.

Kathie Lee and Hoda said they have a ton of favorite moments from the past five years but some that stand out include the time Beyonce surprised them on the show, the time they dressed up like Lucille Ball and Ethel from I Love Lucy and the time Hoda put a Kathie Lee song on her iHoda playlist.
