Kathie Lee & Hoda: West Texas Fertilizer Plant Explodes
America is dealing with more tragedy today as more people learn about the fertilizer plant that exploded in a small West Texas town just north of Waco, Texas. The plant, which is the life blood for the town of 2,800 people, sparked an explosion so large a reporter 60 miles away said he felt the vibrations. Experts are also saying had it been an earthquake it would have registered as a 2.2 on the Richter Scale.
So far news reports are saying between five and 15 people have been killed and over 100 have been injured but the numbers are sure to rise as more people are pulled from the destruction. Kathie Lee said it made her think of her mother in a nursing home since a nursing home had to be evacuated after the blast.
“The first reaction you have when you hear about the explosion is ‘oh my god, someone blew something up,'” Hoda said. She pointed out that police are calling the explosion a crime scene but no foul play is suspected.
