British boy band The Wanted sat down with Kathie Lee and Hoda to talk about their new reality show, The Wanted Life, premiering June 2 on E! A clip from the show was shown of their manager having a tough discussion with them about their partying.

The boys said that they work hard, and their manager said that they party hard too, bringing up the fact that they showed up drunk to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Wanted’s Jay McGuinness responded, “We’re in our twenties. We’re going to throw parties … It’s not like we’re going to set fire to a baby.” With that in mind, Kathie Lee requested that they stay away from her daughter, who now lives in Los Angeles.

The Wanted: Nathan Sykes Recovery

The band was down a member on Today because the youngest boy in the boy band, Nathan Sykes, is recovering from surgery. He had a nodule on his vocal cords, which is a very serious issue for a professional singer. The boys said he has been out for one month already, with another two or three months until he will be ready to get back to work.

Kathie Lee & Hoda: One Direction Vs The Wanted

There have been rumors flying about a feud between The Wanted and another popular British boy band, One Direction. The boys said that this “feud” is more of a media induced one and has never come to physical violence. They said it’s more just harsh words about each other when constantly asked by the media.

The boys have each other’s backs though, they said. They bicker, but they’ve become great friends since Universal Records put them together and cite struggles with the label to be the most difficult struggle they have encountered. The Wanted’s hit song, “Glad You Came,” has sold more than 23 million copies in the United States alone and you can see what goes on behind the scenes of their career in The Wanted Life.
