Kathie Lee & Hoda: Matthew Morrison Interview
Matthew Morrison has been nominated for an Emmy and Golden Globe for his role as Will Schuester on Glee. The show is in its fourth season and has seen a lot of change this season and Will is considering taking a break from leading the glee club for a new position in Washington, D.C. Kathie Lee and Hoda were joined by Matthew Morrison, who talked about the new season of Glee and his new album.
Matthew Morrison Leaving Glee?
He calls it Glee 2.0 and a complete change in the opposite direction. He said they have the whole New York contingent and he has a slew of new kids in the glee club also. He said it has been a blast and is a whole new dynamic.
He is supposed to get married on the show and the ladies asked if that is going to happen and he said he hopes it does, but doesn’t know. He said the writing happens so fast and they get their scripts right before.
He will be taking a sabbatical from the show and on a break, which is what the Washington, D.C. thing is all about and Hoda asked who would be running the group. He said he can’t really say, but Kathie Lee said it will be Finn and he agrees.
Matthew Morrison: Broadway Star
He said probably more people saw the first episode of Glee than saw all of his performances on Broadway combined. He said he did 10 years on the stage in shows like Hairspray and South Pacific.

Matthew Morrison: New Album February 2013
Matthew said he is working on a new album and Phil Ramone produced it for him and it is the songs he loves singing the most with a big symphony orchestra. It is some Broadway standards and he said his favorite song is “Hey There.”
