Kathie Lee & Hoda: Amy Brightfield Interview
If you are about to grab that cup of coffee or glass of wine, the morning may not be the best time to drink them. There are certain times of the day to do certain things for your well-being. Amy Brightfield, Health Director at Woman’s Day Magazine, joined Kathie Lee and Hoda and shared the best time of day to drink coffee, to snack, make a doctors appointment, schedule a surgery and drink wine.
Best Time Of Day: Drinking Coffee
Amy Brightfield said your body produces hormones and chemicals every day, so it is an effect of your body producing those things and when the best time to do certain things are. Research shows that compounds in coffee can help regulate your blood sugar response to a meal, so the ideal time to drink coffee is after lunch because that is usually a bigger meal compared to breakfast and it will stop your blood sugar from spiking or dropping and you won’t feel tired soon after you’ve eaten.
Best Time Of Day: Snacking
She said the best time to snack is mid-afternoon, like 3:30 pm. It is far enough away from lunch and close enough to dinner so that you don’t go to dinner ravenous and overeating. It will help you from overeating at dinner and tide you over and give you that energy boost because your energy naturally dips during that time of the day anyway.
Best Time Of Day: Making Doctors Appointments
Amy said it is best to call the doctors office on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday afternoon because typically those are the less busy times in the office. Monday and Friday are the worst and you want to have enough time to talk to the receptionist and tell them why you are coming in.
Best Time Of Day: Scheduling a Surgery
She said you don’t want to schedule a surgery in July or December because even though your surgery might not be done by a newbie, your post-care might be. December is when people tend to go on vacation. If you have the option, try not to schedule it in July or December.
Best Time Of Day: Have A Glass of Wine
She said your body metabolizes alcohol the best between 2pm and 10pm, so drink it between those hours.
