That’s one of the tips that has been making a lot of waves in England and is now making it’s way to the U.S. Paul Khanna a.k.a. Venice Fulton, author of Six Weeks To OMG: Get Skinnier Than All Your Friends, shared some irrational tips to losing weight and looking great with Kathie Lee and Hoda.

Hoda Kotb asked if it was geared towards young people, with the title. Paul Khanna said not really. Khanna said you have to excite people about health and he didn’t want to put diet in the title because it’s not really a diet. It’s more than that. Diet is just about food. You have to have something sexy because diets can be boring.

Claim: A Cold Bath Helps Boost Your Metabolism

Paul Khanna said if you take a cold bath for 15 minutes daily, it will help boost your metabolism. Khanna said it pumps up your metabolism. When your body gets cold, it doesn’t like the cold and it ramps up the metabolism. Its like turning up the thermostat in your home and the energy will come from somewhere in your body. Khanna said it must be 59-68 degree water.

Claim: Move Slower And Go Longer

Paul Khanna said people think if you move fast you may burn more calories overall than moving slower and going for longer. Khanna said that is not true and your body just cares if you are moving. If you are moving, you are losing. Just keep moving as much as possible.


Claim: Skip Breakfast

Paul Khanna said that most people don’t skip breakfast and most people are heavy. Khanna said it is more about delaying breakfast. He said you want to get moving for an hour or two and then have your breakfast.

Claim: Use Balloon Exercises To Flatten Your Stomach

Paul Khanna said to you use balloon exercises to flatten your stomach. Khanna said if you blow really hard, the muscle underneath really tenses up. The muscle is called your transversus and it gives you a really flat stomach and it’s like putting your body in a corset. It’s really effective.

Claim: Avoid Fruit Smoothies

Paul Khanna said to avoid fruit smoothies so you don’t consume too many carbs. Khanna said smoothies have a ton of sugar in them and your body is designed to live off it’s own fuel. He said we’ve got plenty and he is sure it tastes nice, but we need to start living off ourselves.
