Kathie Lee & Hoda: Season 8 America’s Got Talent Sneak Peek

Howie Mandel stopped by the fourth hour of the Today Show to talk with Kathie Lee and Hoda about what many people are calling the best season of America’s Got Talent so far. Kathie Lee, Hoda and Howie Mandel all got a sneak peek of the 8th season and it does look intense. In the sneak peak clip, a snake charmer has a snake on a table and while it is not clear what he is trying to do, it is clear the snake is not happy about it. The snake kept lunging at the snake charmer and right as the clip ended, the snake actually fell onto the floor and looked poised to attack.

Mandel said that was one of the scariest talents they had on the show. They even had a guy backstage who had to call the hospital the minute the person began performing his talent because the hospital needed to have the anti-venom ready to go. Mandel said it takes 10 minutes for the venom of the snake on the show to kill a person.

“If someone else just happened to get a snake bite, there would be no more anti-venom. There was only one,” said Mandel while explaining how the one anti-venom could have been used up during the day of shooting since snake bites are not uncommon in San Antonio.

Kathie Lee & Hoda: New Judges Add New Dimensions To America’s Got Talent

Mandel said the new judges on the show add a lot of personality while also offering four different perspectives about the talent they are watching be performed on stage. Mel B. is the big pop star who knows music, Heidi Klum is a supermodel who knows all about fashion and Howard Stern is, well, Howard Stern.

“We are all strong personalties who respect each other even though we don’t agree often,” Mandel said.

Mandel said he is always surprised by the talent on stage but sometimes he is more surprised by his fellow judges at the acts they likes and don’t like. He always thinks he knows what the other judges like, but when a particular talent comes on stage that Mandel thought they would like, they hate it.

Mandel said you can tune in to the premiere of America’s Got Talent June 4 2013 or you can stop by the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York City where they will be holding more auditions April 8 2013.
