Kathie Lee & Hoda: Gretchen Wilson Records Three Records In a Year

Gretchen Wilson is a superstar in the country music world. She is one of only a handful of artists who had their debut single reach the number one spot on the charts without even having an album release. The song, “Redneck Woman,” catapulted Wilson to the top of many people’s lists as the next big thing in country music.

Since her first album debuted in 2004, Here For the Party, Wilson has won a Grammy Award, she has sold over eight million records worldwide and she has had five songs reach the top 10 on the Billboard Country Music Charts.

The albums are titled Right On Time and Under the Covers, while the third album is a yet to be named Christmas album.

As for the song she performed on the show, “Still Rollin’,” Wilson said it is a lot different than “Redneck Woman,” but she said she thinks it is different in a good way. I would have to agree, the song is a lot different than the song she is most known for, but the vocals on the new song are excellent. It is definitly a good taste of some classic country music.
