Grant Bowler: Defiance Renewed for Season Two
“There is no authentic me,” Grant Bowler joked that he’s full of hot air. His show Defiance was recently renewed for a second season on SyFy. He said his back up, should the show have flopped, would have been being cultural ambassador to Australia. Luckily, the show worked out and we get the pleasure of hearing his Australian accent more often.
Defiance starts filming in the fall, so in the mean time Bowler is working on films. He’s very proud of a film he did with Alfred Molina, Swelter. Working with Molina was on Bowler’s bucket list. He said that the actor is a great man, funny, and a big guy.
The second season of the show is going to pick up from a big cliffhanger, but Bowler said you can pick up the show at anytime. Defiance is like any great sci-fi piece in that it has a rich backstory that fans become immersed in. He said they wanted to make the show accessible and current so that it reached more than just the select sci-fi set.
Kathie Lee Gifford: Tim Tam Explosion & Tim Tam Slam
Being somewhat of a cultural ambassador, Grant Bowler educated us in the ways of the Tim Tam. It’s a cookie from Australia that you can find at select stores. He said that it’s one of the few things that Australians reluctantly share with the world.
To eat the Tim Tam, bite of one corner and then bite of the opposite corner. Dip one corner into tea or coffee and then suck the liquid up into the cookie. Once the liquid reaches your lips, pop the entire cookie in your mouth. This is called a Tim Tam Explosion or Tim Tam Slam.
Kathie Lee thought she would eat with her mouth open. Word to the wise, don’t do that. The sight is so gross that you will not want to eat Tim Tams.
