Penny Marshall: Laverne & Shirley
Penny became a household name in 1976 when she played Laverne on the country’s top-rated sitcom Laverne & Shirley, which was about two friends who worked in a Milwaukee brewery. After seven years of acting on TV, she turned to behind the camera and directing and earning her way with the Hollywood elite, thanks to movies like Big and A League of The Own.
Penny Marshall: My Mother Was Nuts Review
Rumors have been going around that say she is not doing good health-wise. She said she is fine and nothing wrong with her. For writing this book, Penny said her brother (Garry Marshall) wrote his second one and since they think she is dying, she might as well write something. Hoda said the book is filled with humor and a great read.
Penny said her Mom was funny, but a little nuts. She said her and her brother did get a sense of humor from her and she was very sarcastic. Her Mom said she was a mistake and then a miscarriage, but she was so stubborn she held on. She said as a kid it was hard to hear and you either laugh or you kill yourself.
Penny Marshall: Director
She said she is still directing, but they only do certain types of movies now. She said she likes a story, call her crazy. She does do television, but there are so many channels now she doesn’t know when the seasons are on. For her go-to TV shows, she likes Modern Family and Big Bang Theory.
Penny Marshall: Keeping Up With Cindy Williams
Shirley from Laverne & Shirley was played by Cindy Williams and Penny said they still keep in touch. Cindy is coming up that night to visit and she is rehearsing for a play. She needs to learn some tap steps and Penny is going to teach her.
