Kathie Lee & Hoda: Mira Sorvino Interview
Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb were joined in the studio by Miro Sorvino as she discussed her newest movie, Union Square, her children and much more.
Mira Sorvino: Early Career
Mira Sorvino is an actress that is best known to many, and especially me, as playing Romy White in Romy and Michelle’s High School Reunion, also starring Lisa Kudrow. As amazing as that movie was, Sorvino did not win an Academy Award for it, but she did win an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the movie Mighty Aphrodite.
Mira Sorvino: Union Square Review
In her latest role, Mira Sorvino stars in Union Square. This is a story of a reluctant union between two sisters, one on the verge of marriage and the other on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Sorvino plays the sister, Lucy, on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Sorvino said that Lucy is bipolar, zany, swings from tree to tree emotionally, but she is really smart and understands people. In the movie, Sorvino said that everyone is lying about something.
Mira Sorvino: Shooting Union Square In New York City
Mira Sorvino said playing Lucy in Union Square was an amazing role. Sorvino said they shot the movie in 12 ½ days. The movie was shot in NY and it was shot sequentially, which doesn’t happen much in movies. Because of that, Sorvino said they used five or six locations and it feels bigger than that. During the shoot, Mira Sorvino said that people were coming up to her in Union Square worried about her.
