Kathie Lee & Hoda: Janice Min Interview
Janice Min, author of the new book How to Look Hot in a Minivan, joined Kathie Lee and Hoda to talk about her new book and gave some tips for women on how to look hot in a minivan, like how to dress and celebrity Moms.
Janice Min: How to Look Hot in a Minivan Review
Hoda said we don’t see ourselves as others may see us. Janice said she can relate to the minivan discussion. She said they bought one and part of her soul died when they did. Kathie Lee said she never thought of that because she had her kids later in life and asked if it was related to age.
Janice said it may be age-relevant, but it is that you have this picture of yourself and how you are, but then you buy a minivan and you think that young, fabulous part of you is over. Hoda said there are a lot of tips on dressing and it is a wonderful book.
Janice Min: People Are Cruel To Women
Janice said that Hilary Duff, three weeks after having her baby, people were posting on her Twitter account that she looked fat and was waddling into her pilates class.
Celebrity Moms & How To Look Hot in a Minivan
Hoda said that we often see celebrity Moms a few weeks later with the washboard abs and it is kind of intimidating. Janice said that is part of the reason why she wanted to do this book and give a reality check and demystify what celebrities do. She said remember they are working hard and they are professional good looking people. If you had millions of dollars on the line to lose weight or you’d lose the money, you’d probably go a little crazy too. Kathie Lee said you would also have the money to hire trainers and cooks and everyone else to help you along the way.
Janice Min: Mom-nesia and Shrinking Boobs
Janice said this is her third baby and you never get used to how you look or how you feel after having a baby. It is really traumatic and no one prepares you for what happens and no one talks about it. She calls it the “What You Didn’t Expect After Expecting Part.” She said there is Mom-nesia and there are studies that have been done that you are more forgetful. She said no one prepares you for what happens to your breasts. Not only do they droop, but they shrink and they go away after you are done with breastfeeding.
