Kathie Lee & Hoda: London 2012 Olympics Travel Deals

Mark Muphy, author of Travel Unscripted, joins Kathie Lee and Hoda as they discuss deals on ways to travel to London for the 2012 Summer Games. Mark says to book your flight and your hotel separately. He suggests the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel at $228.13/night is about 50 minutes away from Olympic venues. Another possibility…camping, which is 10 minutes away from Olympic games. You can pitch your own tent for about $30/night or get a pre-erected tent for about $60/night or get a luxury tent with flat panel TVs for about $150/night…Kathie Lee can’t even imagine that last idea!

Mark Murphy tells Kathie Lee and Hoda there are still package deals available. British Airways has a roundtrip flight from JFK to Heathrow for 7 nights at Royal National Hotel for $1749/person…best way is to book through a travel agent. While in London, Mark says don’t rent a car…get an Oyster Card in advance. It will cost you approximately $30 for 3-4 day unlimited access to ferry and subway use. As far as things to do in London, besides the 2012 Summer Games, check out Harry Potter at Warner Brothers Studios, where the movie was made…$34 for adults, $23.30 for children, or families for $108.71.
