Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb talked with Gary Oldman about his new film, The Dark Knight Rises, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman, fun on the set, stunts, director Christopher Nolan and much more.


The Dark Knight Rises brings back Christian Bale as Batman and Gary Oldman as Commissioner Gordon. Although crime is down in Gotham City since the last movie, it doesn’t mean it has been an easy few years. Gary Oldman said he looks old in the movie. He has a secret for the people of Gotham.

In The Dark Knight, we saw how it ended but Commissioner Gordon knows what happened. Oldman said he was compromised and forced into a position to lie to the people of Gotham. Hoda Kotb said this is a high-action film that is different from the first two.

Dark Knight Rises: Anne Hathaway as Catwoman

In the final installment, Anne Hathaway stars as Catwoman. Gary Oldman said he thinks this could be career-changing for her and she will be offered different roles.


Dark Knight Rises: Director Christopher Nolan

Christopher Nolan is the director for The Dark Knight Rises. Gary Oldman said it’s interesting with Chris and he likes to do a lot of effects that are in-camera. He said Chris would rather use real vehicles and stuntman instead of digital effects. Oldman said you feel like you are up there in the sky with the airplane because you actually are.

Dark Knight Rises: Fun On The Set

Gary Oldman said they were in an underpass in downtown L.A. and they couldn’t get back to the trailer. There were long delays during the shooting and him and Anne Hathaway were singing showtunes from Guys & Dolls.
