Model-turned-actress Famke Janssen exploded on the big screen opposite Pierce Brosnan in her breakout role as the evil Bond girl, Xenia Onatopp, in the James Bond hit GoldenEye. Three X Men movies and many other movie and TV roles later, the versatile actress has several projects in the works, including the sequel to the 2008 hit Taken and she can add writer, director and producer to her resume for the soon-to-be released Bringing Up Bobby.

Kathie Lee and Hoda talked with Famke Janssen about her new movies: one she wrote and directed called Bringing Up Bobby and the sequel Taken 2 reviews.


She said it took about five years from beginning to end to get the movie off the ground. For passion projects, she said you really have to stick by them. You don’t have the money to rely on and you have to rely on the kindness of other people.

Famke Janssen: Bond Girl

Famke said it changed her life completely. She said she was modeling and stopped doing that and went to Columbia University and started pursuing acting at the same time. She struggled at first to get cast and was about to give up and applied to AFI Film School with a script just as she got cast in the Bond movie.

Famke Janssen: Bringing Up Bobby Review

She said the idea for the movie started in her crazy brain. The whole notion started when she visited Oklahoma and she thought that she really is foreign to this country. The movie is about a woman from the Ukraine living out her very skewed version of the American dream with her 11-year-old son Bobby and she scams and cons her way throughout the country believing she is Bonnie from Bonnie and Clyde. She thinks she is doing fine and just trying to give her son more opportunities and life is not like a movie and reality eventually catches up with her.


Famke Janssen: Taken 2 Review

Famke is the object of the terrorism this time instead of the daughter. Also, Liam Neeson and her could get back together in a romantic sense. She said it could be. Famke said the second one is even better. It comes out in theaters on October 5 2012.
