Bring It On: The Musical is show about the high-stakes world of competitive cheerleading being intertwined with cutthroat high school politics to tell the story of Campbell, the heir apparent to the head cheerleader at Truman High School.

Campbell is at the top of the cheerleader pyramid and she has it all: a strong squad, a doting boyfriend and a straight path to the national championships. Her entire life has been dedicated to honing routines and staying within the strict rules and guidelines, but when a surprise letter arrives, Campbell’s world is thrown upside down.

Bring It On: The Movie

The musical soon to hit Broadway is based on the hit 2000 movie, Bring It On, starring Kirsten Dunst, Eliza Dushku and Gabrielle Union. The movie is about a champion high school cheerleading squad that discovers its previous captain stole all their best routines from an inner-city school and must scramble to compete at this year’s championships.

The movie was followed up by four direct-to-video sequels, which didn’t contain any of the original cast:

Bring It On isn’t the only movie coming to the big stage. Over the next two seasons, the following films are slated to receive musical adaptations: Animal HouseFinding NeverlandThe Jungle BookThe BodyguardAmerican PsychoFlashdanceHands on a HardbodyDiner, Honeymoon in VegasKinky BootsRebecca, and Ever After. With the success of any of these, expect even more to come down the road.
