The View has a somber episode coming up Thursday, June 13 2013. That date lands on the eve of the six month anniversary of the shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. The ladies of The View are inviting four mothers who lost children that tragic day to stop by the show to talk about their journey the past six months.
Sandy Hook Shootings 6-Month Anniversary
The shootings at Sandy Hook Elementary School took place nearly six months ago but the aftermath of the shootings is still taking it toll on many people. Gun legislation in Congress are of the highest priority, keeping our children safe at schools has become a task every parent wants to know more about and the new ideas about the way treat such situations has come up time and time again, with solutions ranging from more security to teachers carrying guns.
The View are inviting four mothers who lost children in the shooting to come on the show to advocate for stricter gun control laws in America and to tell of their struggle to get their voices heard in Congress.
All the mothers are also going to open up about the shooting, from the time it happened to how they found out to what they did for days and weeks after the shooting took place.
Finally, they are going to be discussing their ideas for mental health reform in america and the disadvantages of the system we have in place right now.
