The View: Scandal Review

Scandal is the hottest new thing on television. The show follows Olivia Pope, head of a D.C. crisis management firm responsible for sweeping governmental scandals (ahh, so THAT’s why it’s called that) under the rug. The twist to keep it interesting? In addition to lots and lots of bedroom scenes, Olivia just so happens to be having an affair with the President of the United States – Fitzgerald Grant.

Luckily for her, her team of professional cover-uppers has her back. Harrison is a smooth-talking charmer, Huck is an ex-CIA agent who brings hacking skills to the table, Quinn plays as Huck’s apprentice and Abbey is the no-nonsense ice queen of the group. There are also a variety of White House staff in place to make sure the team’s job isn’t too easy.

With fans tweeting about the show almost every second it’s on, Scandal has quickly become one of the most popular shows on television.

Kerry Washington Gets Hints For Her Role From Judy Smith

Every week, Kerry Washington calls former Press Deputy for President George Bush, Judy Smith, whose career the show is based off of, to ask for advice. Given the variety of crises that Judy has handled in her career, it helps her with her role.

Unlike Kerry’s character Olivia, though, Judy has never had an affair with the president. When the show’s producer revealed to Judy that the Olivia character, who was inspired by her, was having an affair with the President, Judy didn’t exactly take the news happily. Before the show aired, Judy gave President Bush a call to let him know how the plot was going to play out, and he took it all in good humor.

Tony Goldwyn Directed Last Week’s Scandal Episode

Last week’s episode of Scandal caused quite a hubbub with viewers with a big twist, and it also happened to be directed by Tony Goldwyn, who plays President Fitzgerald Grant. He said that viewers shouldn’t feel bad rooting for Olivia because the show is like life – filled with grey areas. He reenacted the scene that the big twist took place in, planting a dramatic kiss right on Sherri to make it convincing.
