The Revolution Hero Makeover: The Harris Sisters
Each week, The Revolution plans to feature a Hero, who will tackle a five-month life transformation shown to viewers over the course of one week of shows. Harley Pasternak said the show’s first Heroes are sisters who are taking control of their lives.
Jamilla & Cherrell Harris are sisters and best friends. They do everything together, even searching for mates. They want to cut the fried foods from their diets and get sexy. Jamilla is an attorney and Cherrell is a grade school teacher.
Both sisters are interested in finding new relationships and starting families of their own. They are ready to make changes so they can enjoy more of their lives.
The Revolution TV Show: The Harris Sisters Weigh In
Cherrell weighed in at 236.6 pounds. Jamilla stepped on the scale and found out she weighs 246.2 pounds. Both sisters have struggled with weight throughout their lives, and they are excited to work together to improve their lives.
Ty Pennington found out that the sisters have never lived apart from one another. He said each sister wrote down some goals they would like to accomplish, which included becoming more independent and putting themselves first.
Harley Pasternak: Tap Squat Exercise
Harley Pasternak shared his experiences working out with the Harris Sisters for the first time. He started by warming them up with Tap Squat Exercises. They said they are overweight because they simply like to eat. Now, they are ready to break the cycle.
Harley Pasternak said everybody can make better food choices, and everyone can walk for at least 30 minutes per day. The sisters didn’t want to think about what would happen if one of them died from health complications.
Harley Pasternak said their bond is amazing, but that co-dependence is contributing to their health problems.
The Revolution Makeover: Partner Leg Lifts
Harley Pasternak put the Harris Sisters on a custom workout and diet plan. He encouraged them to use each other as workout partners. Harley and Ty Pennington demonstrated Partner Leg Lifts.
Ty laid on a mat on the floor and grabbed Harley’s ankles. Then Ty lifted his legs up in the air, which Harley said would work Ty’s midsection. In phase one of this exercise, it’s important to keep your lower back off the ground.
For phase two of the Partner Leg Lifts, Ty rocked his legs back and forth to work his abs. Harley said not to throw your legs all the way to the ground, because that will hurt your lower back.
The third step of the Leg Lifts is for Ty to pull his feet against Harley, who pushes the feet away. It is a simple exercise that doesn’t require equipment, which means anyone can do it at home.
Harley recommends doing three sets of 20 to 25 reps, just three times per week.
The Revolution Makeover: The Harris Sisters Update
In just one month, each of the Harris Sisters has already lost a full dress size. The hosts unveiled the sisters and their new look. The sisters lost a combined total of 34 pounds during their first month. More on tomorrow’s show about the sisters’ five-month life transformation.
