The Revolution: Green Juice Recipe
Dr. Tiffanie Davis Henry said Jennifer is currently in remission from Thyroid Cancer. Dr. Tiffanie reminded us of Jenny’s Me List goals, one of which was to be Open And Honest about her Cancer. That’s why Dr. Tiffanie put Jennifer in touch with another cancer survivor.
Kris Carr was diagnosed with a rare cancer in 2003, but she got serious about fighting it and has documented her nine-year journey of living with cancer in a movie, Crazy Sexy Cancer, and a series of books, including a new cookbook, Crazy Sexy Diet.
Kris’s goal is to teach others about prevention and healthy choices. She visited Jennifer to share resources and ideas.
Kris Carr: Cancer Story
Kris said after her diagnosis, she quit smoking and drinking, and she changed her diet and the way she takes care of herself. Jennifer said she is still afraid of her cancer returning, and she gets anxious during the months between her checkups.
Jennifer said you don’t have to let yourself get worked up, and you can just take life one day at a time. Kris said her research into longevity diets concluded that plants were key. Kris is an avid believer in juicing.
Jennifer said she appreciated Kris’s advice and perspective as a fellow cancer survivor.
The Revolution: Vegetable Juicing For Cancer
Kris joined Dr. Tiffanie in the studio to share a healthy juicing recipe for everyone. Dr. Tiffanie asked Kris what makes her able to survive and thrive despite her incurable form of cancer.
Kris said attitude is important, and she takes care of herself, focusing on juicing as a core principle of her diet. “The juice is where all the nutrients are, and you are getting about a pound of vegetables in the juice, so that’s why it’s so helpful for you,” Kris said.
Kris shared her Morning Juice Beverage with the audience, which features nutrient rich ingredients.
