The Drs: Permanent Baby Bump + Hernia Repair & Young Albino Model

The Doctors: Update On Woman With Permanent Baby Bump

The Doctors reminded everyone of Amy, a woman who was concerned because she looked pregnant, despite not carrying a child. Thanks to a massive hernia, she constantly looked like she was eight months pregnant. They were able to surprise Amy with the surgery she needed to take care of the problem, once she lost at least 20 pounds. She began exercising and eating well, losing even more than 20 pounds, so she underwent surgery to repair the hernia, bring the walls of her abdomen back together, and remove excess skin.

Amy was thrilled to be back on the show to make a big reveal months in the making. She walked out on set to reveal a much slimmer figure and a glowing smile. She shared that she was at her lowest point a year ago, but thanks to one email to The Doctors her entire life was changed. Amy lost a total of 37 pounds thanks to new healthy habits, absolutely exceeding expectations, according to Dr Michael Zarrabi.

The Doctors then surprised Amy with $5,000 to spend on clothing from Spiegel!

The Doctors: Young Model With Albinism Inspiring Others

The Doctors then welcomed a different special guest, Ava Clarke, to the show via Skype. She’s a young fashion model at just 8-years-old, but what truly sets her apart is that she’s an African-American with albinism. Albinism is a congenital disorder characterized by the complete or partial absence of pigment in the skin, hair, and eyes. Ava has been on the cover of magazines, in a movie, and even on the red carpet with Beyonce. What she’s most proud of, however, is being a role model to those who may need a reminder that we’re all beautiful, no matter what we look like.
